Forgotten Delaware recently visited the abandoned railroad bridge that crossed the Brandywine River at Rockland, Delaware.

The bridge was built by the Reading Railroad to allow rail service to the paper mill that has been converted into upscale housing. The bridge has very distinct sections;  wooden trestle, brownstone piers, and cement piers. We think that the bridge may have been rebuilt in sections as portions either washed out or were undermined. We would really like to see some photos of this area when it was a paper mill and trains were using the tracks, please email us at Forgotten Delaware if you can help.
